Rajesh Srivastava's skillful dexterity with oil as a medium produces faces and portraits that peep from compositions that are abstract yet recognizable. He does not plan the characters on his canvases, rather the characters guide him towards manifesting themselves,, and the shapes are then converted into the subject in his painting. His composition are a result of three conversations- with the canvas, the character and the artist in him. The artist's memories and experiences fill the negative spaces in the composition.
