Kumar Ranjan’s works marked by strong use of colour seem part of a myth, but in actuality are a fantastical rendition of everyday events. The artist is keenly observant of the idiosyncratic and behavioral quirks of people, their inner thoughts and gamut of emotional expressions. The connection with feelings, both hidden and exposed, is so explicit that even the inanimate objects assume a humanistic quality. Each element on the canvas is emoting and interacting with each other. The artist’s own experience of migrating from a rural region leads him to humanize everything through his works.
